Lorne Michaels Finally Asked!

Lorne Michaels has finally been asked about our efforts to get Twilight on SNL with Robert Pattinson as host. Here's what OK! magazine reported earlier...

We hate to disappoint all you Robert Pattinson fans out there, but you'll have to wait to see him hosting Saturday Night Live.

The Internet has been buzzing with rumors that the Twilight hottie would be the celebrity guest on an upcoming episode of the long-running sketch comedy show.

However, SNL's head honcho, Lorne Michaels, tells OK! that the show won’t be getting an infusion of vampire blood just yet.

“Not this season,” he said at Natural Resources Defense Council 11th annual Forces For Nature benefit in NYC. "We’re all locked in with the hosts for this year."

Let's keep "Twilight on SNL, Robert Pattinson as Host" on Lorne's mind! Please read the earlier posts for ways to keep the movement alive!

The Power of the DVR!

I've been thinking about different ways to show NBC how seriously we feel about getting Twilight on SNL. And thanks to a certain waldrobe malfunction during a certain half time show, I think I've got a new idea. This malfunction was the most reviewed snippet Tivo's ever recorded. I'm wondering if we all use our DVRs to record SNL we could send the message to SNL how many fans really want this. So in support of the effort, please set your DVRs to record SNL indefinitely! You can of course erase the show later. Once you've set your DVR please leave a comment stating that you've done it that way we can attempt to keep up with the numbers. Pass the word!

Kellan and Edi want to be on SNL!

Hey all, exciting news today! I met up with Kellan and Edi at the New England Fan Experience and spoke to them about our campaign to get the cast of Twilight on SNL! Kellan told me it would be so cool if they did this, and that it's always been his dream as an actor to be on SNL. I think Edi would love a full time gig on the show!

Let's show them the love and get more of our friends to sign the petition and email the media and SNL. Add your skit ideas to our blog or any suggestions on how we can increase the campaign!

Distribute SNL Campaign Flyers!

We now have SNL campaign tags for you to print off and distribute at the movies! They are relatively small tags just directing people to the website and petition.

Each sheet has 12 tags so print off whatever you can, cut them up and pass them out to the Twilight fans at the show! You can simply tell people to "take one and pass them" while they're waiting for the show to start in the theater!

SNL Skit Suggestions!

The fabulous & creative Twi-hards over at TwilightMoms brainstormed some hilarious skit suggestions for when Rob hosts SNL. Check them out! When you email the VIPs to spread the word, feel free to include these funny suggestions in your email!

TM Skit Suggestions
1. I would love to see him referred to as "Spunk Ransom" or spoof the whole "spider monkey" thing. They have so much they could run with!! He would be hilarious.

2. I bet he would have some great ideas of his own.

3. Wouldn't it be awesome if he was also the musical guest and played his rendition of Bella's lullaby???

4. I think it would be great if Jack Nicholson made a surprise appearance as one of the Cullens.
I think they should do a spoof of the maze in Harry Potter.
Rob is dressed as Cedric but at the point where Voldemort kills him, suddenly everyone leaves, Carlisle Cullen comes out of the hedges and turns him into a vampire. He winds up being a vampire but instead of being beautiful he winds up looking like the guy from "How To Be". When he meets Bella she keeps telling him he sparkles but he keeps trying to explain that it's just glitter because he loves to scrap book.

5. On the day that Rob is scheduled to host it happens to be bring your dog to work day. Rob keeps yelling at everyone's dog about how they're breaking the treaty.

6. You forgot having a drunk early 20-something girl run up and try to kiss him! (Or, asks him to kill her!)

7. Rob is visiting an insurance company to get a policy for his hair and lower lip!!!

8. Rob’s having a confrontation with his stylist about his hair. He wants to cut it but she says it’s insured!

9. He's pulling an "Eliza Doolittle" learning the American accent-only to break out in song a la "Rain in Spain". His American speech coach could be someone hysterical.

10. He could enter the stage for his monologue-naked on a white horse (Equus-style)!

11. He is being petitioned left and right by his fans to perform all sorts of stunts and acts. Can you see his reading thru the petitions and finding that his elementary principal is petitioning for something bizarre?

12. Picture it: a couple of young actors sitting around a table playing poker discussing the good life FAME has brought them. As the game continues, the boasting gets crazier and crazier. Each person goes around the table talking about the exploits of partying with so-and-so, photo shoots for vogue, designers wooing them with free bling...then each one starts to get a text message-each from their MOM. One needs to get home before curfew, the other needs to swing by the grocery store for milk, the other forgot to feed the pick up their clothes off the floor and is grounded indefinitely.

13. The English monarchy asks Robert to parlay his popularity into a political movement-whereby he convinces the American public that what we really need is to return to the monarchy. The Queen is very willing to let bygones be bygones. The Queen laments on how close Hugh Grant got!

14. Spoof those VW-Brooke Shields ads about getting pregnant for German engineering. I thought Rob could do a good spoof on that "Buying a Volvo won't make you cool like me, it won't....seriously".

15. I was thinking that at the beginning of the show there could be a Barbara Walter's-like segment in where he is being interviewed about his lengthy and critically acclaimed career. And as he's still so young, the joke could be that he's first real break was back in preschool playing the third billy goat gruff in his preschool's production of "Troll Under the Bridge". And how he really felt he found his inner goat. Then Babs could mention his charity work...Hoodies for Llamas. Rob could say how shocked he was that the llamas-living in quite cold altitudes were sheared and left defenseless against the perils of nature-and he knew he had to do something. So he joined with the wonderful people at Armani to make "Hoodies for Llamas". What a humanitarian effort. He pleads with the audience to get involved.

16. “I think it would be funny if Rob did a spoof on Harry Potter or Daniel Radcliffes Equis (being somewhat nude and riding a pony would be a wonderful look on Rob). Because he has worked with Daniel and is friends with him, it would be more light hearted. Plus- there is always a heated debate about Harry Potter vs Twilight.

It could also be funny if he made fun of Russel Brand from the MTV movie awards, since he got cut off by him mid- sentence and they are both British with BIG crazy hairstyles.

He could also do a clip from Bram Stokers Dracula- like an old classic vampire." - Lauren N P (October 17, 2008) on The Movie Fanatic site.
